BEA - Aequilibrium Kit - 4x10 capsules | Complete 40-capsule protocol for reef balance

The BEA Aequilibrium Kit brings together the entire AEQUILIBRIUM protocol in a single box: A + E + Z + PRO , comprising 40 ready-to-use, openable capsules . The idea is simple: to offer a comprehensive and synergistic approach to the biological management of nutrients and the maintenance of a stable microbial balance in marine aquariums. Marine microbial consortia, organo-mineral matrix, enzymes , trace elements , nutrients, metabolic stimulants, and specific carbon sources : everything is included to support nitrification, denitrification, and the transformation of organic waste. Used regularly, the kit helps the tank remain clean, stable, and less susceptible to problems such as cyanobacteria, dinoflagellates, algae, or sludge.

  • Complete A, E, Z and PRO protocol, ready for 4 weeks
  • Stabilizes nutrients and microbiology, even after treatments or changes
  • Simple dosing, breakable capsules for volumes from 100 to 1000 L

Complete bacterial protocol for marine aquariums: A, E, Z and PRO

The BEA Aequilibrium Kit was designed for those who want a clean and consistent approach to nutrient management, without haphazardly using multiple products. Everything here is designed to work together: autotrophs and heterotrophs , enzymes, nutrients, and carbon sources complement each other to support the tank's natural processes. The result is biological stability that is easier to achieve and maintain, especially in modern reef aquariums where organic load can quickly accumulate.

Each component of the kit contributes its piece to the puzzle:

  • A : support of the stages of the nitrogen cycle (nitrification/denitrification balance).
  • E : rapid assimilation of organic matter, helps with NO3 and PO4 via exportable biomass.
  • Z : Enzymatic support, useful against mucilage, viscous deposits and organic aggregates.
  • PRO : Complete mix with carbon sources, ideal for boosting diversity and resilience.

Nutrient management and stability: what the kit changes on a daily basis

The kit's advantage lies in its ability to act on several fronts simultaneously. Microbial communities work to transform a wide variety of organic compounds, while enzymes help break down complex molecules. Ultimately, the tank gains in biochemical efficiency : less stagnant waste, fewer sudden fluctuations, and more consistent effluent removal through filtration and skimming.

In the long run, this stability creates a less favorable environment for opportunistic organisms. The kit doesn't promise a "magic" aquarium, but it clearly helps maintain cleaner and more consistent conditions, which makes all the difference when the tank becomes susceptible to cyanobacteria , dinoflagellates , algae, or bacterial films.

Official dosage: volumes, dilution and method of administration

The basic dosage of the protocol is intentionally simple: 1 capsule per 500 to 1,000 liters , or ½ capsule per 100 to 500 liters , following the provided schedule. To accurately dose a precise volume, the most practical method is to dilute the contents of one capsule in 100 ml of aquarium water , then use only the required amount. The remainder can be stored in the refrigerator for the next dose.

  • Dilute the contents of one capsule in 100 ml of aquarium water .
  • Pour into an area of high movement , ideally into the sump .
  • Turn off the skimmer approximately 30 minutes after adding the water.

The kit should be used judiciously, in accordance with the tests and the state of the system. It is recommended to administer the treatment 24 to 48 hours after a water change . The protocol is designed to be adjustable: if the tank reacts quickly, the aquarist can adjust the interval or the quantity, while remaining cautious.

Usage timelines: maturation, resolution, and maintenance

The AEQUILIBRIUM protocol follows a clear rhythm: 4 weeks of treatment , then 1 week without treatment . After this break, the aquarist reassesses and decides whether to repeat or adapt the treatment.

Maturation: For newly set up or transferred aquariums. Use the same dosage ratio (1 capsule/500–1000 L or ½ capsule/100–500 L). For a longer maturation period, the 4-week cycle can be repeated after the one-week break.

Resolution: For medium/high nutrient levels, algae, biofilms, sludge, detritus, and low redox. After a one-week break, the cycle can be restarted if symptoms persist.

Maintenance: For stable tanks with low nutrients, no filamentous algae or significant biofilms, and generally high redox potential. After the cycle, allow a one-week break before resuming.

Specific inoculation procedures: BEA CYCLE and DSB-SSB

The kit also allows for more “targeted” inoculation procedures, useful when the aquarist wants to boost a particular support (such as BEA CYCLE) or seed a deep sand bed.

BEA CYCLE Inoculation – Nitrifying Action: Pour 4 to 5 liters of aquarium water into a bucket, add the BEA CYCLE carrier, then dissolve the contents of 2 A capsules and 2 PRO capsules . Maintain at 25°C , with oxygenated and circulating water for 24 to 48 hours (using an aerator or pump). Then place the BEA CYCLE in the sump, in a well-circulated and oxygenated area . Never return the culture water to the aquarium.

BEA CYCLE inoculation – denitrifying action: same preparation (4–5 L, BEA CYCLE, 2 A capsules + 2 PRO capsules , 25°C), but this time the water is kept still and oxygen-free for 24 to 48 hours . Then place the BEA CYCLE in an area of the sump with little movement and low oxygenation . Again: never return the culture water to the aquarium.

DSB-SSB Inoculation (Deep Sand Bed): For 300 liters of aquarium water, dissolve 1 A capsule and 1 PRO capsule in just a few milliliters of clean aquarium water. Let it stand for 8 to 12 hours , then draw up the liquid with a large pipette or syringe and inject it directly into the deepest areas of the substrate at several points. Repeat if necessary.

Storage, precautions and technical use

The capsules are sensitive to humidity: they must be kept closed, in a cool, dry place , and handled with care after opening. The kit is intended for technical use in ornamental aquariums , out of reach of children. It is not intended for animal consumption, nor for veterinary or human use, and does not contain any pathogenic organisms.
