BEA Microbiome Lagoon 100 ml is a live microbiological culture specially developed to enrich and preserve the biodiversity of marine aquarium beds and substrates. Its formula, combining phototrophic and benthic microorganisms, promotes the colonization of sand, porous rocks, biological media and refugiums. It contributes to the natural transformation of detritus, the development of functional biofilms and the stability of the substrate's microbiological processes. Particularly useful for seeding new sand, maturing biomedia or maintaining a mature reef aquarium, this culture supports the formation of a rich and diverse benthic ecosystem. Suitable both for startup and regular maintenance, Microbiome Lagoon helps maintain biologically active beds and a more balanced reef environment.

BEA Aequilibrium A is an advanced solution dedicated to the biological management of nutrients in marine aquariums . Presented in 10 openable capsules , this highly concentrated blend of nitrifying and denitrifying bacteria acts directly on the nitrogen compounds responsible for imbalances. It promotes long-term stability of the nitrogen cycle , limits ammonia and nitrite spikes, and helps reduce the accumulation of nitrates and unmetabolized organic matter. Ideal for starting a new tank, after medication treatment, or in cases of biological drift, it quickly colonizes rocks, substrates, and filter media. A reliable solution for maintaining a healthy, stable environment less susceptible to unwanted algae.
BEA Aequilibrium E is a concentrated , rapidly absorbed marine heterotrophic bacteria , specially formulated to optimize the biological management of nutrients in marine aquariums. Presented in 10 openable capsules , it acts directly on complex organic matter , nitrates (NO3) , and phosphates (PO4) , promoting their transformation into biomass that can be removed by skimming. Its broad-spectrum action targets both uneaten food proteins and planktonic lipids and polysaccharides from coral mucus. Ideal for bacterial proliferation strategies or carbon management, it helps to stabilize the system over the long term and limit problems such as algae blooms or persistent bacterial films.
BEA Aequilibrium Z is a concentrate designed to help marine aquariums regain a clean and stable state when organic matter accumulates. Its strength lies in a combination of enzymes and marine microbial consortia , enriched with oligosaccharides, trace elements , and metabolic stimulants, formulated to tackle the slimy layers and organic aggregates that eventually suffocate the aquarium decor and the system. With its 10 openable capsules , dosing remains simple, and the action aims to make organic compounds more digestible by bacterial biomass, and then exportable by the protein skimmer. The result: a cleaner, more stable tank, less prone to problems such as algae, bacterial films, or sludge.
In a marine aquarium, sand, porous rock and biological media host a multitude of microorganisms that contribute to the natural functioning of the reef. These bacterial communities play an important role in the transformation of organic matter and the biological stability of substrates.
BEA Microbiome Lagoon was designed to promote this biodiversity through a living microbiological culture composed of phototrophic and benthic communities. Its formulation is primarily intended for environments with reduced water circulation, diffuse light and variations in oxygen availability.
Its use helps support the colonization of sand, biomedia, porous rock and biological surfaces in the sump. It is particularly suitable for aquariums started with new materials, but also for mature systems requiring regular microbiological maintenance.
Sand beds and porous media naturally accumulate fine organic particles from food remains, algae residues and animal activity. These materials can be gradually transformed by the bacterial communities present in the substrate.
BEA Microbiome Lagoon supports the development of functional biofilms and promotes microorganisms involved in the transformation of detritus, polysaccharides and complex organic matter.
Its formulation also supports microbiological processes linked to the sulfur cycle and redox gradients, naturally present in areas of the substrate where oxygen becomes less available.
This action helps maintain biologically active and diverse beds. However, it does not replace mechanical sand maintenance or the removal of significant waste accumulation.
BEA Microbiome Lagoon is particularly useful when setting up a reef aquarium with new sand, dead rock or filtration media that are not yet well colonized. The addition of live microorganisms supports the gradual establishment of bacterial communities.
The product can also be used to reseed biologically depleted substrates or support microbiological activity in refugia and low-flow sump areas.
It is suitable for both shallow sand beds (SSB) and deep sand beds (DSB), whose different layers have varying oxygenation conditions.
To complement its action, BEA Microbiome Lagoon can be combined with BEA Microbiome Cairns. Lagoon primarily targets beds and low-flow substrates, while Cairns promotes biodiversity on oxygenated surfaces, particularly live rock, corals and well-circulated media.
Before each use, shake the sachet vigorously to resuspend the live microorganisms and mineral particles.
The recommended dosages are as follows:
For substrates that are already installed, apply the preparation using a pipette or syringe, at several points near the sand. It is preferable not to concentrate the entire dose in one place or deeply disturb a mature substrate.
When dosing, keep the circulation and return pumps running, but temporarily switch off the skimmer, UV and ozone for approximately 30 minutes.
In aquariums without a skimmer, start with a half dose. For routine maintenance, small, regular additions are preferable to large, occasional doses.
Slight turbidity may appear after addition. The skimmer may also produce more foam for a few moments after being switched back on. These effects are generally temporary.
BEA Microbiome Lagoon is packaged in a 100 ml sachet containing a live liquid microbiological culture enriched with mineral media, functional components and trace elements.
The sachet must be kept closed, in a cool place at a stable temperature, away from heat sources. Due to the presence of phototrophic microorganisms, the manufacturer recommends exposure to diffuse natural light, without direct sunlight.
The formation of sediment, slight variations in appearance or a mild sulfur odor may be normal for this type of live culture. Shake carefully before each use to homogenize the preparation.
Product intended for marine aquariums only. Do not ingest and keep out of reach of children.
