BEA - P Adsorb - 500 ml | High-capacity regenerable phosphate-reducing filter media

BEA P Adsorb 500 ml is a high-performance filter media based on ceramized iron hydroxide , specially designed for the long-term adsorption of phosphates (PO4) and silicates in marine aquariums. Its microporous structure with a very large active surface area allows for the efficient and stable binding of bioavailable nutrients, without release into the water. The 500 ml format is ideal for large or heavily stocked aquariums requiring precise nutrient control. Usable in filter bags, passive beds, or reactors, this regenerable media offers a reliable, progressive, and long-lasting solution for clearer water and a more stable system.

  • Permanent adsorption of phosphates and silicates
  • 500ml format suitable for large volumes
  • Media that can be regenerated up to several cycles

Advanced phosphate control in marine reef aquariums

BEA P Adsorb belongs to the new generation of specialized adsorbent biomedia . Thanks to its composition of ceramized iron hydroxide, it firmly binds the phosphates and silicates responsible for imbalances and algal blooms. Unlike some alkaline media, it does not release nutrients once saturated, thus ensuring stable and controlled action.

Its extensive internal microporosity multiplies the surface area in contact with water, thus optimizing adsorption. The result is visible: improved clarity, better stability of parameters, and a gradual reduction of unwanted nutrients.

Recommended processing capacity and gradual dosage

The 500 ml format allows you to treat up to 1,000 liters of water depending on the organic load and the population of the tank. For a well-stocked 200-liter aquarium, it is recommended to use between 100 and 200 ml .

  • Introduce 25% of the recommended starting dose.
  • Increase gradually over 1 to 2 weeks.
  • Monitor the reaction of the corals and the system.

Too rapid a reduction in phosphates can disrupt sensitive corals. Gradual reduction ensures a smooth adjustment that respects the biological balance.

Use in a filter bag or dedicated reactor

BEA P Adsorb 500 ml can be used in the supplied filter bag , in a passive filter bed, or in a dedicated reactor. It should be placed in a moderate to high flow area to maximize efficiency. A light rinse before installation is recommended to remove fine particles.

The regular particle size (approximately 3–4 mm) ensures good water circulation while limiting clogging.

Safe regeneration procedure

The media can be regenerated up to 3 or 4 times by strictly following these steps:

  • Wear gloves and appropriate protective gear.
  • Soak for 6 to 12 hours in 3% peroxide solution, then rinse.
  • Soak for 6 to 12 hours in citric acid solution, then rinse.
  • Final soaking for 6 to 12 hours in bicarbonate, then complete rinsing.

This procedure allows for the restoration of a large part of the media's adsorption capacity.

Sustainable improvement of water quality

By limiting phosphates and silicates, BEA P Adsorb contributes to:

  • Reduce the risk of algal blooms.
  • Improve the transparency and visual purity of the water.
  • Reduce the load on existing biological filtration.

This filter medium offers stable and controlled nutrient delivery, essential for demanding reef aquariums.

Storage and precautions for use

Store in a cool, dry place, tightly closed. Product intended for technical use in ornamental aquariums. Keep out of reach of children. Avoid overdosing to maintain the system's balance.
