BEA - P Adsorb - 250 ml | High-efficiency regenerable phosphate-reducing filter media

BEA P Adsorb 250 ml is an innovative filter medium based on ceramized iron hydroxide , designed for the long-term adsorption of phosphates (PO4) and silicates in marine aquariums. Thanks to its microporous structure with a large surface area , it captures bioavailable nutrients responsible for algae growth and retains them without release. Packaged in uniform granules and usable in bags, filter beds, or reactors, it acts quickly while remaining stable. The 250 ml format is ideal for medium to large volumes, with gradual and controlled effectiveness. Regenerable for several cycles, it offers a reliable solution for clearer water and a more balanced system.

  • Permanent adsorption of phosphates and silicates
  • Microporous structure with a very large active surface area
  • Regenerable media for extended use

High-performance phosphate-removing media for marine aquariums

BEA P Adsorb belongs to the new generation of adsorbent biomedia designed for precise nutrient control. Its ceramized iron hydroxide base allows for the strong binding of phosphates and silicates, without subsequent release. Unlike temporary solutions, this medium retains the captured compounds permanently, thus limiting abrupt changes in parameters.

Its extensive internal microporosity significantly increases the exchange surface area, thus improving adsorption efficiency. Water passes through the medium, nutrients are bound, and the overall load on the system gradually decreases. The result: clearer water and conditions less favorable to unwanted algae.

Recommended processing capacity and gradual dosage

The 250 ml size is sufficient to effectively treat a medium to large aquarium. As a guideline, 500 ml covers up to 1,000 liters. For a well-stocked 200-liter aquarium, it is recommended to use 100 to 200 ml , introduced gradually.

  • Start with 25% of the target dose.
  • Increase gradually over 1 to 2 weeks.
  • Observe the reaction of the system and the corals.

Too rapid a drop in phosphate levels can stress some sensitive corals. Gradual reduction remains essential to maintain biological balance.

Practical use in a bag, filter or dedicated reactor

BEA P Adsorb is used in a filter bag , passive filter bed , or specific reactor . It must be placed in an area with good flow to maximize water/media contact. The supplied bag can be replaced after 60 days of use.

The granules have a uniform size (approximately 3–4 mm) and produce little dust. Light rinsing before installation is recommended.

Safe regeneration procedure

The media can be regenerated up to 3 or 4 cycles by strictly adhering to the safety steps:

  • Wear gloves and eye protection.
  • Soak for 6 to 12 hours in a 3% peroxide solution, then rinse.
  • Soak for 6 to 12 hours in citric acid solution, then rinse.
  • Final soaking for 6 to 12 hours in bicarbonate, then complete rinsing.

Regeneration must be carried out carefully in order to preserve the structure of the media and guarantee its performance.

Concrete benefits for water quality

By reducing phosphates and silicates, BEA P Adsorb contributes to:

  • Improve the transparency and purity of the water.
  • Limit algal proliferation linked to nutrient excesses.
  • Reduce the load on the existing filtration system.

This medium offers stable and progressive control of nutrients, without a sudden effect on the ecosystem.

Storage and precautions

Keep closed in a cool, dry place. This product is intended for technical use in ornamental aquariums. Keep out of reach of children. Avoid overdosing to maintain the biological balance of the tank.
