The ARKA membrane for the myAQUA 400 is the key component of the reverse osmosis system when it comes to obtaining clean, stable, and suitable reverse osmosis water for your aquarium. Designed as a high-performance replacement membrane , it removes up to 99% of impurities, salts, heavy metals, pesticides, and bacteria from the source water. Thanks to its extremely fine filtration and reinforced polyester structure , it offers excellent efficiency while maintaining good durability. Compatible with the ARKA myAQUA 400 system , it helps produce safer water for both freshwater and demanding marine aquariums.
In a reverse osmosis system, the membrane remains the central component. It performs the finest work and largely determines the final quality of the water produced. The ARKA myAQUA 400 membrane was specifically designed to offer high-precision filtration capable of retaining a very large quantity of undesirable substances. It helps eliminate up to 99% of contaminants , including dissolved salts , heavy metals , certain pesticides , and bacteria .
For aquarists, this filtration capacity makes all the difference. Cleaner reverse osmosis water allows for a much more controlled start, whether preparing synthetic seawater, compensating for evaporation, or adjusting the parameters of a freshwater aquarium. When the starting water is well-filtered, maintaining tank stability becomes easier, and unwanted imbalances are simpler to prevent.
The ARKA replacement membrane for the myAQUA 400 is suitable for both marine and freshwater aquariums. In reef aquariums, it provides exceptionally clean water, particularly beneficial for corals , invertebrates , and sensitive fish. In freshwater aquariums, it offers a neutral and reliable base, ideal for tanks where water quality must be strictly controlled.
Its filtration fineness, advertised at around 0.0001 microns , allows it to achieve an extremely high level of separation. This capability is what gives it its effectiveness on the most problematic dissolved elements. The result: the water produced is significantly purer and better suited to the needs of modern aquariums, especially when the inhabitants require highly stable parameters.
This ARKA myAQUA 400 membrane was designed as an original spare part , intended for direct integration into the system. This is a real advantage, because a well-suited consumable is always preferable to a makeshift solution. Here, compatibility is clear, the installation remains consistent with the reverse osmosis system, and the performance meets expectations.
The membrane also benefits from a reinforced structure made of non-woven polyester fabric , which improves its strength and durability. This design contributes to the overall reliability of the system, provided, of course, that the other filtration stages are also properly maintained. A high-performance membrane performs best when protected by clean pre-filters that are replaced on time.
Like any filtration component, the membrane eventually loses efficiency over time. The rate of wear depends primarily on the quality of the source water and the frequency of use of the reverse osmosis system. Therefore, it is advisable to regularly monitor two very simple indicators: the quantity of water produced and the conductivity, or TDS value, of the purified water. When the flow rate decreases or the values increase, it may indicate that it is time to replace the membrane.
Changing the membrane at the right time ensures continued high-quality filtration and prevents a gradual decline in performance. It's also a smart way to preserve the entire system, as a worn membrane can quickly reduce the effectiveness of other filtration components. In a responsible maintenance routine, membrane replacement shouldn't be seen as a chore, but as a logical step to keep your water truly clean.
To get the best performance from the ARKA myAQUA 400 membrane , it's best to use it under optimal conditions. The water used should be cold or at room temperature , and the pressure should not exceed 4 bar . Before installing a new membrane, it's also recommended to replace the sediment pre-filters and activated carbon pre-filters if necessary. This is important because these components protect the membrane and prevent it from clogging too quickly.
Storage in a dry, cool place is also recommended to preserve the product before installation. With consistent maintenance and timely replacements, this membrane allows the myAQUA 400 to continue producing reliable water, suitable for the needs of both freshwater aquariums and more demanding reef setups.

The osmosis units of the easy line 190 and easy line 300 series are compact and efficient. The fine filter removes all particles larger than 5 μm. In our facilities we use TFC (Polyamide/Polysulfon) membranes. The installations operate with an output of approx. 3 - 4:1 (rejection:permeate) and have a salt removal capacity of approx. 95%.
