Rotala indica 'Bonsai' is an elegant and compact aquatic plant, perfect for adding volume and depth to an aquarium. With its small, rounded leaves and moderate growth, it is reminiscent of a miniature Bacopa caroliniana . Placed in groups and pruned regularly, it forms a dense and harmonious bush. Under intense light , its tips take on a reddish tint, providing a beautiful variation of color. This easy-to-maintain plant is ideal for the second or background of an aquarium and adapts equally well to classic aquariums and sophisticated aquascapes.

Rotala indica 'Bonsai' is a must-have aquarium plant for aquascaping enthusiasts. Unlike other Rotala varieties, it exhibits a more compact and structured growth habit, forming small underwater shrubs. It can reach between 5 and 20 cm in height, making it ideal for the background or secondary planting of an aquarium.
For a dense and natural effect, it is recommended to plant several stems together and prune them regularly. Each cut stimulates new side shoots, making the bush even fuller. With proper pruning, this plant can even be shaped to mimic a real aquatic bonsai .
Although fairly easy to grow, Rotala indica 'Bonsai' thrives in a stable, well-maintained environment. Here are the ideal parameters to promote its growth:
This plant is able to grow in a nutritious substrate , but it can also be content with neutral soil if it benefits from a good supply of nutrients . The more intense the light, the more its leaves will take on a pinkish to reddish tint.
Rotala indica 'Bonsai' is easy to grow. Simply remove the plant from its pot, rinse off the gel under running water, and then divide the branches into several small sections. These should be planted a few centimeters apart in the substrate to allow for proper root expansion.
Maintenance is minimal, but regular pruning is recommended to encourage branching and achieve a nice density. When properly cared for, this plant offers a beautiful structure, perfect for adding depth to your aquarium.
Rotala indica 'Bonsai' fits easily into a variety of aquarium styles, from minimalist planted tanks to sophisticated aquascapes. It can be used as a background or background plant, depending on the desired setting.

For an even more spectacular effect, it can be combined with other contrasting plants, such as carpet plants or aquatic mosses. Thanks to its ease of cultivation, it is suitable for both beginners and experts looking to refine their decor.
