Shrimp King Color are non-buoyant, water-stable food pellets made from 100% natural ingredients for the natural color enhancement of freshwater dwarf shrimp.

Yellow, orange and red shrimp are not able to produce the dyes themselves that give them this attractive coloration; they must ingest them with their food. These dyes, also called carotenoids, are found above all in algae, flowers, fruits and leafy green vegetables. Shrimp and crayfish transform carotenoids into dyes, in particular astaxanthin which begins a molecular bond with the protein beta-crustacyanin. These molecular bonds are stored in special colored cells and give shrimp the species-specific coloration.

The situation of shrimps is similar to that of the well-known flamingos: when these birds eat small carotenoid-rich crustaceans, such as brine shrimp, their plumage turns pink, thanks to carotenoids and astaxanthin. On the other hand, if their food does not contain any natural dye, their plumage loses its superb natural coloring and turns white.

Shrimp King Color contains a lot of natural colors, among a wide range of quality ingredients, such as p. ex. micro-algae, crustaceans, marigold flowers, peppers, carrots and decapsulated brine shrimp eggs. When fed regularly, it provides the perfect base for species-specific coloring in all its glory. Shrimp King Color is particularly suitable for the following species: Red Fire, Sakura Rot, Sakura Orange, Blue Pearls, Yellow Fire , black tiger prawns and blue tiger prawns.
