Selected bacteria on maerl: a long-lasting biological cleaning

At the heart of ZOA Bacter is a synergistic blend of beneficial strains deposited on a highly porous maerl substrate. These microorganisms rapidly colonize the aquarium decor, compete with algae for nutrients , and transform organic sludge into usable compounds. Simultaneously, they capture nitrates and phosphates to multiply: fewer nutrients mean less algae and clearer water. The resulting biofilm stabilizes the aquarium and nourishes certain benthic species, while keeping the glass cleaner for longer.

Vitality of life: fish and corals better protected

By restoring a robust bacterial flora , ZOA Bacter supports the overall immunity of the aquarium and limits the establishment of opportunistic bacteria such as Vibrio. LPS and SPS corals particularly appreciate this stability: easier acclimation, tissues less prone to necrosis , and more open polyps. Fish often exhibit more active behavior and improved appetite.

Simple instructions: quick sowing followed by light maintenance

For an effective start, perform a 2-week seeding (measuring spoon included). During distribution, turn off the skimmer or rapid mechanical filtration for approximately 10 minutes and pour the dose into a well-circulated area.

• 500–1000 L : 10 ml/week (≈ 4 spoons) for 2 weeks.
• 100–500 L : 5 ml/week (≈ 2 spoons) for 2 weeks.
• 30–100 L : 2.5 ml/week (≈ 1 spoonful) for 2 weeks.

Next, switch to a weekly maintenance dosage : 2.5 ml (≈ 1 spoon) for 500–1000 L, and 1.25 ml (≈ ½ spoon) for 30–500 L. The absence of overdosing makes use worry-free: adjust according to the organic load and the response of the tank.
