Carbonate hardness (or KH) plays a vital role in marine aquaria. It acts as a buffer against pH fluctuations and supports calcification in hard corals. When KH drops, the first visible signs are slowed growth, dull colors, and tissue damage . In SPS and LPS, this can even lead to tissue necrosis (RTN/STN) and colony loss.

This phenomenon is often caused by high KH consumption by stony corals and calcareous algae, or by a dosing pump failure (blocked pipes, calibration errors). Some brands of sea salt may also have naturally low KH, which increases the need for targeted correction.

Precise and flexible dosage according to your tank's consumption

The 1000 ml bottle of ATI Carbonate Hardness allows you to increase the KH by 0.1°dKH per 100 liters with only 1 ml of solution. It is possible to increase up to 4°dKH per day (40 ml/100 L) if necessary, without jeopardizing the balance of the tank.
