Ventilation slots

Vent slots in the filter lid and vent grooves in the outflow ensure that the water returned to the tank is fully oxygenated and maximizes gas exchange during filtration.

Bottom-up flow

The pump pushes water up into the filter basket, entering the bottom of the basket and being pushed out the top. Bottom-to-top flow ensures that water comes in contact with all filter media, and cannot pass around or over the filter media as is the case with rear-hung filters with flow from back to front.

Maintenance alert

Over time, filter media can become clogged with detritus which reduces or obstructs the flow of water through them. When this happens in Tidal™ filters, the water is redirected around the filter and back into the aquarium through a side outlet. Redirected water causes the blue maintenance alert to rise on top of the filter, signaling that the filter needs to be cleaned.

Surface skimmer

The surface skimmer captures water just below the surface, where excreted fish oils accumulate, as well as from deep within the aquarium to remove floating debris.

Flow control

The flow rate of the pump is adjustable using the dial on the front.

No filter cartridges

The filter basket has a huge capacity to hold the filtration media of your choice in the configuration of your choice. All Tidal™ filters come with Seachem 's Matrix™ bio-media to get you started.

Worry-free maintenance

The basket is fully removable and snaps into the filter lid for easy, drip-free transit to a sink or hose for cleaning.

Self-priming pump

The self-priming pump means there's no need to refill the filter basket with water, set up a siphon, monitor the filter or any other hassle that comes with starting a new filter.

Self-cleaning wheel

The self-cleaning, corrosion-resistant impeller is suitable for both saltwater and freshwater environments. This reduces maintenance and allows the filter to be suitable for a wide range of environments.

Adjustable leveling device

A leveling device located at the base of the filter allows the filter to adapt to a variety of aquarium styles.

3 year warranty

All Tidal™ filters are warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 3 years from date of purchase, excluding pump impeller. This warranty can be extended to 5 years by registering your filter. The warranty covers the replacement of defective parts.
