The role of manganese in reef aquariums
Manganese is a trace element present in trace amounts , generally expressed in µg/L. In reef aquariums, it is mainly monitored via ICP analyses because its availability can change with export (skimming, resins), biological activity and the density of life in the tank.
The goal is not to dose “at random”, but to correct only when a drift is confirmed , then to adjust gradually to preserve a stable environment and avoid unnecessary variations.

A simple, direct and controlled formulation
The Zoanthus Lab – Manganese solution is prepared from manganese(II) sulfate monohydrate ( MnSO4 · H2O ) , dissolved in purified water (RO/DI).
No chelating agent is added. At this concentration, manganese is soluble and stable in its inorganic form. This deliberate choice promotes accurate ICP readings and limits interpretation discrepancies related to complexed forms. The raw material used is pharmaceutical grade to ensure a clean, stable, and reproducible composition.

Concentration and dosage
The solution is formulated according to a precise protocol:
- Concentration: 0.4 mg/mL of manganese (elemental Mn)
- Recommended dosage: 1 mL per 100 L of water
- Effect: +4 µg/L of manganese
- Correction limit: do not increase manganese by more than 1 µg/L per day.
Supplementation should always be based on a recent ICP analysis . For trace elements, measured and gradual adjustments remain the best approach to maintaining a stable tank in the long term.

Usage and storage instructions
Add to a well-circulated area of the aquarium or to the sump. Shake well before use.
Store away from light, between 15 and 25 °C. Recommended shelf life: 12 months after manufacture.

- Keep out of reach of children! Do not swallow! Do not ingest.
- Not suitable for animal feed.
- In case of contact with skin or eyes, rinse thoroughly with water.
