Product Description :
Calcium is one of the most important elements in seawater, as fish and corals need it to develop their skeleton in the form of calcium carbonate, which consists of calcium and carbon dioxide. This is why reef aquariums in particular generally need a calcium supply to create natural conditions for healthy hard coral growth. Tropic Marin ® Bio-Calcium supplies the pond exclusively with carbon dioxide and calcium in the ideal biological form according to the Balling method. Unlike other calcium additives, Tropic Marin ® Bio-Calcium does not disturb the ionic balance and the pH remains stable.
Advantages :
• | Biologically ideal calcium supplement for reef aquariums using the Balling Method |
• | Thanks to its crystalline form, only one component instead of the usual three components |
• | Contains all 70 trace minerals in natural seawater concentrations |
• | Does not disturb the ionic balance and the pH remains stable |
• | No artificial by-products |
• | Accurate metering; no prior dissolution necessary |
• | No change in pH |
• | Free of phosphates and other pollutants |
Manual :
Determine the volume of water in your tank, taking into account the decor (stones and other). Adding one measuring spoon of Bio-Calcium per 100 liters increases the calcium content by around 10 mg/l and the carbonate hardness by around 1.5° dKH.
Natural seawater has an average calcium content between 400 and 410 mg/l and a carbonate hardness (KH) of 6.5° dKH. Concentrations higher than 440 mg/l of calcium and in alkalinity of 8° dKH are not recommended, because calcium carbonate could precipitate in the event of an overdose. The maximum recommended dose per day is 2 measuring spoons per 100 liters of aquarium water!
Fill flush with the measuring spoon provided with Bio-Calcium (spatula for exact filling provided). Properly sprinkle the contents on the surface of the water while stirring. Ensure that no larger crystals of undissolved Bio-Calcium come into direct contact with the corals. To avoid clouding the water, add the next scoop only when the previous addition has dissolved.
Water density may increase slightly over time. Please measure the density regularly.
