Product Details

Prevents damage to the mucous membranes: Natural fine, round-grained sand protects the sensitive barbels of groundfish. Ideal for collecting fish such as Loricaria and catfish. Ideal for fish, invertebrates and plants. No unwanted pollutants are discharged into the water.

Includes: 1 sachet of Sansibar Grey. Not recommended with underfloor heating cord.

An ideal substrate:

Bottom substrate is an important part of setting up an aquarium, as many animals forage for food on the bottom. Plants also need a strong footing and their roots absorb nutrients from the soil. Demersal fish absolutely need a sharp edgeless surface. Underfloor heating is only recommended for substrates containing medium to coarse particles. If the particles are too fine, the water cycle will not work properly.

Use :

Rinse surface with tap water to remove shipping marks. The soil substrate is sprayed on the nutrient substrate (JBL AquaBasis) to stimulate plant growth (approx. 6-8 cm for vigorous growth).

Algorithm :
Correct amount of soil substrate: length (cm) x width (cm): 140 = kilos of substrate for 5 cm thickness.
