Sansibar GRAY 10kg from JBL is a fine gray sand floor : for freshwater or seawater and aquaterrariums. Intensive plant growth : fine particles and density prevent the penetration of humus and other waste.

Avoids damaging the mucous membrane: natural fine sand, round seeds, preserving the sensitive shell of bottom fish. Ideal for feeding fish such as catfish and loach. Ideal for fish, invertebrates and plants: does not release unwanted harmful substances into the water.

Includes: 1 sachet of Sansibar Grey. Rather not recommended with underfloor heating cord.

An ideal substrate:

Substrate is an important part of setting up an aquarium, as many animals take to the ground for food. Plants also need to be held in place and draw nourishment from the soil through their roots. Groundfish should have a substrate without sharp edges. Underfloor heating is only recommended for medium to coarse-grained substrates, because if the grain is too fine, water circulation will not occur properly.

Use :

Rinse the surface with tap water to remove any traces of wear caused by transport. Spread the soil medium over the nutrient medium (JBL AquaBasis) to stimulate plant growth (so that the plant grows strongly by approx. 6-8 cm).

Algorithm :
Correct amount of soil substrate: length (cm) x width (cm): 140 = kilos of substrate for 5 cm thickness.
