Product Details

Avoid injury to the mucous membranes: fine natural sand, with rounded grains, preserving the sensitive barbels of bottom fish. Ideal for foraging fish such as armored catfish and loaches.
Ideal for fish, invertebrates and plants: no release of unwanted harmful substances into the water.
Included in delivery: 1 sachet of Sansibar Snow. Rather not recommended for underfloor heating cord.

An ideal substrate
Soil substrate is an important part of setting up an aquarium, as many animals forage the soil for food. Plants also need to be held firmly in place and take in food from the soil with their roots. Bottom foraging fish absolutely need a substrate without sharp edges. Underfloor heating is only recommended for medium to coarse-grained substrates, because if the grains are too fine, water circulation will not take place properly.

Use
Rinse the substrate with tap water to eliminate any trace of abrasion due to transport. Spread the soil substrate on the nutrient substrate (JBL AquaBasis) to stimulate plant growth (for vigorous growth approx. 6-8 cm).

Algorithm
Correct amount of soil substrate: length (cm) x width (cm): 140 = kilos of substrate for 5 cm thickness.
