Looking for a dense, natural-looking plant carpet to enhance your aquarium floor? The Eleocharis Parvula , available in a pot from Tropica , is the perfect plant to create a real aquatic lawn in no time. Very similar to grass in appearance, this cosmopolitan grassy variety is distinguished by its ultra-thin stems and rapid development . Easy to maintain, it requires neither complex installation nor high-end equipment: standard lighting , a little patience and a little care are enough. Planted in small clumps, it spreads quickly to offer a natural, lively and refined effect. In aquascaping as in a classic tank, it is a safe bet.

Eleocharis Parvula is one of the simplest and most effective plants for creating a dense vegetation carpet on the aquarium floor. Its thin, flexible stems, similar to small blades of grass, create a stunning lawn effect that adapts to all styles of aquascaping, from the refined Iwagumi to the wilder Forest Scape. Its deep green foliage remains compact under strong lighting, which allows its height to be well controlled (from 3 to 10 cm).
Undemanding, this variety easily accepts moderate light and does not necessarily require a Co2 system . It grows by runners, which allows it to spread quickly if it is well established. To plant, simply remove the plant from its pot, remove the wool and divide it into several portions to be planted on the area to be covered. With a good nutritious substrate , it quickly forms a regular and attractive carpet.

What makes Eleocharis Parvula so popular is its ease of maintenance . Even without a CO2 kit, it grows well in most tanks. By regularly adding nutrients , especially iron, it maintains all its vigor and beautiful color. It adapts perfectly to a temperature of 6 to 25°C and a pH between 5.5 and 7.5. In short, it is suitable for both nano aquariums and large volumes.
And for those who like a clean aquarium, know that a little regular filter cleaning helps keep your carpet in top shape. Eleocharis Parvula spreads better when its sprigs are planted spaced apart: there's no need to make it dense when planting; it will naturally form a beautiful carpet as it grows. Be careful not to neglect it, however: regular pruning allows it to remain dense and compact.
Native to humid regions such as Europe, Asia, and North America, this small perennial has adapted to a wide range of conditions. In the wild, it grows in marshes, rice paddies, and along the seashore. Its strength in aquariums lies precisely in its ability to adapt to a variety of environments. It grows equally well in fine aquarium sand and in muddier areas.
It's very similar to the Eleocharis acicularis mini, but much simpler to maintain. Its rapid growth makes it a prime candidate for beginner aquarists or those who want a quick visual effect without the hassle. Even without underwater flowering, it retains its natural aesthetic with its spindly stems and light appearance.
Microsorum pteropus 'Narrow' , also known as the narrow-leaved Java fern, is an ideal aquarium plant for beginners and aquascaping enthusiasts alike . It grows naturally attached to an aquarium root or rock , without the need for substrate, making it very easy to install. Its thin, elongated leaves offer a fluid and elegant movement in the water . It is not demanding: moderate light, no need for CO2, and a good ability to adapt to different parameters. In addition to being decorative, it also offers perfect hiding places for fish and shrimp . It is a plant that grows slowly but surely.

Its dense habit and its olive green color that can turn red under strong light make it an ideal choice for the middle or background of the tank. Cultivated in vitro, it arrives without algae, snails, or pesticides , and integrates easily into aquascapes of all sizes, even nano. Moderately demanding, it appreciates intense lighting , a good substrate, and a CO2 system if possible. A plant that is both graphic and functional, perfect for adding movement and texture.
