Looking for a dense, natural-looking plant carpet to enhance your aquarium floor? The Eleocharis Parvula , available in a pot from Tropica , is the perfect plant to create a real aquatic lawn in no time. Very similar to grass in appearance, this cosmopolitan grassy variety is distinguished by its ultra-thin stems and rapid development . Easy to maintain, it requires neither complex installation nor high-end equipment: standard lighting , a little patience and a little care are enough. Planted in small clumps, it spreads quickly to offer a natural, lively and refined effect. In aquascaping as in a classic tank, it is a safe bet.

Eleocharis Parvula is one of the simplest and most effective plants for creating a dense vegetation carpet on the aquarium floor. Its thin, flexible stems, similar to small blades of grass, create a stunning lawn effect that adapts to all styles of aquascaping, from the refined Iwagumi to the wilder Forest Scape. Its deep green foliage remains compact under strong lighting, which allows its height to be well controlled (from 3 to 10 cm).
Undemanding, this variety easily accepts moderate light and does not necessarily require a Co2 system . It grows by runners, which allows it to spread quickly if it is well established. To plant, simply remove the plant from its pot, remove the wool and divide it into several portions to be planted on the area to be covered. With a good nutritious substrate , it quickly forms a regular and attractive carpet.

What makes Eleocharis Parvula so popular is its ease of maintenance . Even without a CO2 kit, it grows well in most tanks. By regularly adding nutrients , especially iron, it maintains all its vigor and beautiful color. It adapts perfectly to a temperature of 6 to 25°C and a pH between 5.5 and 7.5. In short, it is suitable for both nano aquariums and large volumes.
And for those who like a clean aquarium, know that a little regular filter cleaning helps keep your carpet in top shape. Eleocharis Parvula spreads better when its sprigs are planted spaced apart: there's no need to make it dense when planting; it will naturally form a beautiful carpet as it grows. Be careful not to neglect it, however: regular pruning allows it to remain dense and compact.
