This MA911B/2 remote probe is sold with a glass pH electrode filled with gel. It is protected by a cap and bathed in a storage solution.

Due to this fact, we can find a little crystallized material which does not damage the electrode in any way, it is enough just to pass it under water.

Electrode storage solution

To function properly, the glass bubble of the electrode must be hydrated. This hydration is required for the ion process to occur. For this, it is essential when the measuring device is not in use to always store the probe vertically with a few drops of storage solution in its protective cap.

• Never store an electrode in distilled water.

Calibration and pH solution

As an electrode ages, its glass changes resistance. This change will modify the measures. It is for this reason that an electrode must be calibrated in a buffer solution which will correct this.

Over the course of the pH measurements, a veil may form around the glass of the electrode, this indicates that it is dirty and consequently that the pH values read will be less precise. To improve this, it is advisable to soak it in an adequate cleaning solution.
