Calcium and carbonates are essential for the growth of all corals. If either is insufficient, growth stops, followed quickly by a deterioration in the health of the reef. Used as prescribed, Reef Carbonate™ will not deplete calcium, magnesium or strontium which usually tend to precipitate out as alkalinity increases.
