  • Filter wadding squares have the advantage of not fraying like filter wadding and of having been cut to the exact size suitable for external filters.
  • Use: remove the filter sponge from a filter basket and replace it with a square of cotton wool
  • The cotton pad is so fine that it filters the smallest particles from the water and gives extremely clear water
  • Only wash the cotton pad once and replace it afterwards.
  • Included in delivery: 5 squares of filter fleece cut for the corresponding filter.

Clean and healthy water

Plant or food residues and metabolic products affect the quality of aquarium water. Good quality water is essential for healthy fish and plants in the aquarium. It can be obtained by different filters and different filter media. Filters suck in aquarium water and extract impurities and other waste from the water through the filter media.

Having a project to get back into fresh water on a 250-300 liters and having an old JBL e700 second hand, I bought this improved prefilter which clogs less but officially intended only to upgrade the following ranges (JBL e701/e401 and e702/e402) ...not without a slight apprehension concerning compatibility (thickness => bad support of the tank seal => flooding ???) ... but no! It's perfectly compatible and it's just JBL trying to boost sales! So as I had previously bought a new rotor for e701/e702 I find myself with a filter equivalent to the e701 or e702 and just as quiet! What's more, the power consumption measured by myself of my old e700 model is exactly the same, i.e. 7.1 watts, as the new, supposedly more economical, generations! In fact, JBL used to display the maximum impulse consumption at pump start-up, as is customary with electric motors, but now displays the true average consumption of 7 watts! In other words, the only changes in energy consumption between versions are purely marketing-related ;-) (Translated review)
