Nymphoides hydrophylla 'Taiwan' is a plant from Asia, probably a commercial variety of the classic Nymphoides hydrophylla species. In an aquarium, it naturally stands out in the background with its broad leaves up to 15 cm and a height of up to 30 cm . It grows in dense clumps that give the whole a very natural look.

Unlike other species of the same genus, it keeps its leaves underwater , without rising to the surface, which is perfect for those who do not want unnecessary shade in their tank. It loves a nutritious substrate , but remains undemanding in terms of light and CO2, which makes it a reassuring choice for all aquarists.

This plant has a big advantage: its rapid growth . It allows you to plant a plant in record time, but be careful, it will need a little regular maintenance. A trim from time to time helps maintain a beautiful shape and prevent it from encroaching on its neighbors. For a beautiful color contrast, consider combining it with red plants like the Rotala Macrandra.

In terms of reproduction, the plant naturally develops small shoots – or seedlings – just below the leaves. As soon as they reach about 5 cm, you can detach them and replant them to further enhance your decor. Rather practical!

Simple planting, no nasty surprises

Delivered in an in vitro pot, this plant is guaranteed to be pest-free.
