Anubias barteri nana is a plant of African origin, particularly appreciated for its resistance and ease of maintenance . With a height varying from 5 to 10 cm, it is perfectly suited to small as well as large aquariums. Its creeping rhizome can reach up to 15 cm, allowing a solid fixation on various supports such as stones, roots or aquatic decorations.

Its main advantage is its slow growth , thus limiting the spread of algae in the aquarium. In addition, it does not require a CO2 system , making it an accessible plant for all aquarists. Its lighting requirements are low to moderate, which means it can thrive even in low light conditions.

How to install and maintain it?

The Anubias barteri nana must be fixed to a support such as a root or a rock, as its rhizome must not be buried or it will rot. Simply attach it to its support with a nylon thread until it roots naturally. It can also be placed floating temporarily before attaching itself to a decoration.

To keep this plant in good shape, it is advisable to respect a few parameters:
