TROPICA - Limnobium laevigatum - In vitro

Limnobium laevigatum is a floating aquatic plant that captivates with its simplicity and effectiveness. Its bright green leaves, reminiscent of water lilies, float elegantly on the water's surface. Underwater, its long, thin roots provide a perfect refuge for surface-dwelling fish like gouramis and bettas.

This plant is particularly appreciated for its role in aquarium balance. It absorbs excess nutrients , thus helping to limit algae proliferation. Furthermore, its growth depends directly on the richness of the water: if the leaves begin to rise above the water, it means that the environment is rich in nutrients.

Easy to grow and perfect for all aquariums

Limnobium laevigatum is undemanding and grows well in most freshwater aquariums. It prefers calm water and good lighting for optimal growth. However, it also adapts to conventional aquariums and even grows in the presence of a CO2 system , although this is not mandatory.

It reaches an average height of 5 cm and its leaves can spread up to 15 cm wide . Its maintenance is minimal: simply remove the dead leaves and ensure that it does not completely cover the surface of the water to let the light through.

How to properly use Limnobium laevigatum in vitro?

Sold in vitro culture, this plant guarantees superior quality without parasites or algae. Its installation is very simple:

Carefully remove the plant from its cup.
Rinse under water to remove the nourishing gel.
Divide into small portions (5 to 10) and distribute them over the surface of the aquarium.

With good lighting and slightly nutrient- rich water, it will flourish quickly and add a natural touch to your aquarium.
