The JBL ProTemp e300 heater is an external heater integrated in the flexible hose. With a power of 300 watts , it will heat the water of a marine or freshwater aquarium from 90 to 300 liters.
Flexible hose diameter 12/16 mm for aquarium. Sold by the meter.
Green pipe 16/22 mm for water circulation.
Most aquarium fish are native to tropical waters and require water between 22 and 30°C. In community aquariums populated with fish/invertebrates from different regions, a temperature of 24-26°C has been found to be ideal. A temperature of 30°C is only useful for breeding, for example discus. Many species of shrimp are native to cooler waters and cannot tolerate temperatures between 25 and 30°C.
The water temperature must therefore be programmed using an “immersion heater” which automatically regulates the temperature. For this, there are immersion heaters with different wattages in the form of tubes, which are fixed in the aquarium (JBL ProTemp S) and external heaters with two wattages, which are integrated into the water return pipe of the an external filter (JBL ProTemp e). The advantage of external heating is to reduce the number of products to be installed IN the aquarium and to distribute the heat more evenly. On the other hand, the digital display of the outdoor heater always clearly displays the current water temperature.
Underfloor heating is NOT meant to regulate water temperature. A cord heater provides better heat circulation to the bottom of the aquarium as the water heated at the cord rises and circulates in the areas between the cord heaters. The water thus brings nutrients to the roots of the plants and ensures their perfect growth. Line heaters must always be supplemented with a "main heater" (JBL ProTemp s or e).
