Tangit PVC-U Plus meets the following standards, among others: DIN 16970, CSTB 15/81-57, KIWA (up to an outer diameter of 90 mm) and KOMO (with an outer diameter of 40 mm to 160 mm). Particularly suitable for use in the distribution of cold water in drinking water pipes, internal sewage networks, industrial installations for the transport of liquid or gaseous materials, sewage or waste water pipes. rainwater, etc. Insensitive to bacteria.

Features :

  • High pressure max. 16 bar / evacuation
  • KIWA and KOMO approved
  • Chemical resistance
  • gelling agent
  • Insensitive to bacteria
  • 24 month shelf life

Preparing the surfaces to be bonded:

Cut the tube square and chamfer the outer side (15°). Then, deburr the inner side. Then, the surfaces to be glued (tube end on the outside and the sleeve on the inside) will be roughened. Then, the tube insertion depth will be marked on the end of the tube, so that the desired glue application and proper tube insertion can be checked. The cleaning then takes place with Tangit Stripper. Apply Tangit Remover to white blotting paper, e.g. rolls of crepe paper, then thoroughly clean the dry surfaces to be bonded, so that they are free of grease and dirt. The blotting paper must be renewed after each cleaning. Surfaces treated with Tangit Stripper must be dry before applying the glue. Avoid the formation of frost by heating delicately.

Bonding:

Mix Tangit PVC-U Plus well before use. The glue should flow slowly from the angled brush or a mixing stick in a fan shape. Then apply an even layer of glue lengthwise to avoid the formation of grooves in the tube. Apply enough glue to the end of the tube. Tangit makes it possible to overcome clearances up to 0.6 mm.

Assemble the tube and the sleeve directly up to the stop or the end of the sleeve depth, without turning or tilting, then tighten for a few seconds until the glue sets. From DN 160, the assembly must take place using a sliding device. Excess Tangit PVC-U Plus should be removed immediately after assembly with blotting paper. Due to the rapid setting of the glue, the assembly of the elements must take place within 3 minutes after the application of the glue. As the technique is very time consuming, pipe dimensions cannot be greater than DN 90 when using Tangit PVC-U Plus in pipes. In the case of dimensions greater than DN 90, 2 people must simultaneously apply the glue in the sleeve and on the pipe. The open time of Tangit PVC-U Plus, between the application of the glue and the assembly of the elements, will be determined by the ambient temperature and/or the thickness of the layer of glue. For a 1 mm layer of glue, and depending on the ambient temperature, the applicator will have the following times: 20°C = 293 K = 3 minutes 25°C = 298 K = 2 minutes 30°C = 303 K = 1 minute The tubes should remain stationary for the first 5 minutes after assembly. In case of temperatures below +10°C, this time will be at least 15 minutes. The immersion of the glued tubes.

in the trench will take place after 10-12 hours. The filling of the pipes and the pressure test up to a pressure of 1.5 x PN may only take place 24 hours after the last bonding. In case of service pressure exerted on the pipes, it will be necessary to observe at least 1 hour of waiting for 1 bar. It is recommended to rinse well and possibly to fill with water the pipes which are not used immediately.

Technical characteristics :

  • Adhesive containing a mixture of solvents based on Methyl Ethyl Ketone (Butanone-2)
  • Density: 0.90 g/cm³
  • Application temperature: +5°C – +35°C
  • Recovery time: Max. 3 minutes
  • The collages are waterproof. The chemical resistance of bonds, especially with organic acids, depends on the tolerance of the tube, the cure time, the compression force, the temperatures, the type of acid and the concentration of the acid. Special DTX glue is available for concentrated acids. For PVC-C bonding at high temperature, use Tangit PVC-C glue (technical data sheet on request). PVC-C = superchlorinated PVC.
