Product Details

Standard bio-filter medium with large colonization zone for bacteria cultures and high efficiency

SUBSTRATE can be laid in one or more layers. It is a highly porous filter material made from fritted glass. The surface structure provides important purification bacteria with excellent colonization conditions. The colonizable surface is 450 m² per litre.
EHEIM SUBSTRATE is suitable for fresh and marine water, is washable and can be reused.

Point:
Never clean and change all filter elements in one operation (and never clean too thoroughly). Bacteria cultures must not be completely destroyed or recolonization will be delayed. The filter baskets in the external filters and the filter modules in the internal filters aquaball a biopower are ideal for partial cleaning.
