SUBSTRATE can be laid in one or more layers. It is a highly porous filter material made from fritted glass. The surface structure provides important purification bacteria with excellent colonization conditions. The colonizable surface is 450 m² per litre.

Point:
Never clean and change all filter elements in one operation (and never clean too thoroughly). Bacteria cultures must not be completely destroyed or recolonization will be delayed.
