Healthy pelvis and near-natural conditions

The water parameters of the pond depend on the fish population and the plants present. Even if the water looks clear, it can be polluted. Bad parameters can lead to the development of diseases or algae in the pond. For a pond to be healthy and to have conditions close to nature, it is important to regularly check and adapt the water parameters.

For each water analysis, JBL offers quick tests or colorimetric tests that calculate one or more specific parameters at the same time. These water tests identify algae problems and negative levels of nitrates, nitrites, potassium, phosphates, etc.

Why test?

Maintaining an appropriate pH as constant as possible is an important condition for the well-being of the occupants of the pond, as well as for the good growth of aquatic plants. On the other hand, many substances dissolved in water are subject to alterations due to pH. It is particularly recommended to avoid variations in pH. Carbonate hardness (KH) indicates the total of carbonates (HCO3) and hydrogen carbonates (HCO3). These minerals can bind acids and bases and therefore stabilize the pH at the desired level. If the KH is below 4°dKH, the pH will not be stable and will show very strong variations, between 6 and 12, which will harm all the living organisms present in the pool!
