ZOA Bacter – 200 ml | Concentrated anti-algae bacteria & crystal clear water

ZOA Bacter is a concentrate of non-pathogenic live bacteria fixed on a maerl substrate, designed to stabilize the biological balance in both saltwater and freshwater aquariums. Its multi-strain consortium naturally competes with unwanted algae, lowers nitrates and phosphates through assimilation, and transforms organic deposits into resources for filtration. Result: cleaner windows, clear water and a healthier biotope. Fish and corals regain vitality and resistance (protection against vibrioses), while a beneficial biofilm is established to feed certain invertebrates. Compatible with skimmers and filters, the effect is quickly seen, especially with correct mixing. 200 ml bottle (170 g) – 10 9 CFU/g , GMO-free, no risk of overdose .

  • Visible reduction in filamentous algae and less dirty windows.
  • Progressive reduction of nitrates and phosphates, clear and stable water.
  • More toned corals and fish, reinforced and sustainable microbial flora.

Selected bacteria on maërl: biological cleaning that lasts

The heart of ZOA Bacter is a synergistic blend of beneficial strains deposited on a highly porous maerl substrate. These microorganisms quickly colonize the environment, compete with algae for nutrients , and transform organic “mud” into assimilable compounds. At the same time, they capture nitrates and phosphates to multiply: fewer nutrients, therefore less algae and clearer water. The biofilm thus created stabilizes the tank and nourishes certain benthic species, while the windows stay clean longer.

Vitality of life: fish and corals better protected

By restoring a robust bacterial flora , ZOA Bacter supports the overall immunity of the tank and limits the establishment of opportunistic bacteria such as Vibrio. LPS and SPS corals particularly appreciate this stability: easier acclimatization, tissues less prone to necrosis and more open polyps. In fish, we often observe more lively behavior and better palatability.

Simple instructions: quick seeding then light maintenance

For an effective start, carry out a 2-week inoculation (measuring spoon included). During distribution, turn off the skimmer or rapid mechanical filtration for about 10 minutes and pour the dose into a well-mixed area.

  • 500–1000 L : 10 ml/week (≈ 4 spoonfuls) for 2 weeks.
  • 100–500 L : 5 ml/week (≈ 2 spoonfuls) for 2 weeks.
  • 30–100 L : 2.5 ml/week (≈ 1 scoop) for 2 weeks.

Then, switch to weekly maintenance dosage : 2.5 ml (≈ 1 scoop) for 500–1,000 L, and 1.25 ml (≈ ½ scoop) for 30–500 L. The absence of overdosing makes use worry-free: adapt according to the organic load and the response of the tank.

Wide compatibility: freshwater, reef… and even ponds

ZOA Bacter perfectly complements a high-performance skimmer, mechanical and biological filters . In reef tanks, the effect is often spectacular under strong mixing . In fresh water, the reduction in nutrients makes the aquarium more stable, with a less clogged substrate . Can also be used in outdoor ponds from 15°C .

Quality and safety of use

A bit early to give a long-term result, but for now it considerably reduces the algae. (Translated review)
