Product Details

Seachem Matrix is a high porosity substrate that provides effective biological filtration for nitrogen waste removal.

One liter of Matrix provides as much surface area (internal and external) as 40 liters of plastic balls.

Unlike plastic balls which only offer external surfaces, Matrix presents macro porous internal surfaces.

This allows Matrix, unlike other bio-media, to remove nitrates, nitrites and ammonia, at the same time and in the same filter.

As long as the water is pre-filtered properly, Matrix does not need to be replaced.
