Instructions for use of the Salifert Nitrates analysis

ATTENTION :

Keep out of reach of children! Do not swallow!

Clean the spoon and test bottle after use.

INSTRUCTIONS :

• Using the syringe, add 1 ml of water to the test vial.
• Add 4 drops of reagent NO3-1 to it.
• Add 1 spoon of the powdered reagent NO3-2 to it. Stir the small tube gently for 30 seconds. Let it sit for 3 minutes.
• Place the small tube above the color scale, on a white part, and compare the colors. Deduce the corresponding nitrate concentration. An intermediate color corresponds to an intermediate concentration. The nitrate values are in ppm (mg/L).

INCREASE SENSITIVITY:

Use the following procedure only when the value is less than 10 mg/L.

Hold the test tube in front of you, and look through it from the side. Hold the color scale behind the test tube. Make sure that a white part of the color scale is behind the liquid in the test tube.

The results will need to be divided by 10. This way you will be able to detect 0.2 ppm nitrate easily.
