After the appearance of LEDs in the form of really energy-efficient tubes, there was still a lack of technology and demand (!) for a general optimization of the light spectrum of LEDs for aquariums. LEDs have so far only been in demand in the technical and residential sectors. However, the light spectrum needed for aquarium plants is very different from that for a living room or a flashlight. This is photosynthetically active radiation or PAR (Photosynthetic Active Radiation) and a full spectrum that encompasses ALL spectral ranges of the visible light spectrum. Only from these two components can perfect light for aquarium plants be produced! JBL was the first manufacturer in the world to have developed, with the JBL SOLAR tubes, a full spectrum analogous to that of the sun for aquariums. The R&D division of JBL therefore did not want to simply use the existing LED spectra of the habitat for aquariums, but here again wanted to create a special full SOLAR spectrum for aquariums! It took a while, but it's now available!
