I was looking for a small pump to lift water 35cm high from the decanter next to my nano recif 100L full SPS, very low elec consumption and super quiet! in other words I was looking for a little gem! For some time now, I'd been successfully using the little Tunze Comline 900 extracted from my Tunze Comline 3161 filter with around 250L of ascent for exactly 2.8watts, but that meant I had to leave the brand-new 3161 in its box at almost 60€! I spotted this nice Sicce Syncra Nano for just 21€ while shopping in my favorite store, and saw the rather conclusive video presenting the well-known manufacturer, so I gave it a try! The result: after two days' running-in, mounted on its "silent block" suction cups, it's almost inaudible at 1m (even when all the rest of the equipment is switched off), and performance is very satisfactory, with 21sec to raise 1L by 35cm, i.e. 170L per hour, with only 2.4watts actually measured! Even with demanding animals, a large settling turn-over is absolutely not essential, contrary to the many precepts and ratios of some people! A ratio of x1 to x2 can largely suffice! Out of curiosity, I installed it to feed an external E700 JBL filter (this can be useful if you burn an external freshwater filter head) and without removing the JBL rotor, the flow rate is still 250L/h (at a constant level without rising) for 2.5watts, which can be enough to maintain good biological and chemical filtration on a good-sized freshwater tank! So I'm delighted, but we'll have to wait and see how reliable it is over time, and hope it doesn't suffer the same start-up problems as its cousin, the Tunze Silence 1073.008 (which is in fact a Sicce manufacture rebadged by Tunze... we're well aware of the friendly, historic commercial links between these two fine brands! ;-) ) . Unfortunately, once again, the length of time it takes for verified opinions to be sent out does not allow for this kind of long-term feedback! So you'll have to rely on forums and social networks to find out! (Translated review)
