Calcium Automat

In 1989, TUNZE® Aquarientechnik developed the first limestone reactor with dissolution of aggregate by carbonic acid. In this original principle, water enriched with CO2 crosses a limestone substrate using a pump. Carbon dioxide reacts with water to form carbonic acid which in turn dissolves calcium carbonate. This carbonate-enriched water then leaves the reactor circuit. The new generation of devices consists of two models:

Calcium Automat 3171 is designed for installations under aquariums and for aquariums up to 1,200 liters, with a granulate capacity of 1.85 liters.

Calcium Automat 3172 for aquarium filtration is suitable for larger installations, well over 2,000 liters and depending on the coral load. Its aggregate capacity is 10 litres, it has a particularly high yield.

All models have the ability to suck in the feed water, which greatly facilitates their commissioning. The water flow is adjusted before it enters the aggregate and therefore remains very constant over time. All devices have re-suction of undissolved gases and require little CO2. Models 3171 and 3172 use a wide cover and have a special connection for the integration of a pH probe.

For saltwater aquariums up to 2000 liters depending on the coral population.
